About Us
RPS is about PC gaming. Lovely, delicious, strange and compelling PC gaming. It’s written by a gathering of Britain’s top games critics, and aims to cover everything from the latest breaking stories about the biggest releases to esoterica from the format’s most obscure peninsulas. Our philosophy is that AAA and indie are just as likely to produce fascinating games worthy of our time and coverage, and give all extremes equal prominence.
We also believe that opinions are vital and wonderful, eschewing confused notions of ‘objectivity’ in favour of flavoured, nuanced and intelligent views and comment, whether it be raised eyebrows or furrowed brows at corporate claims, or exploding, delighted hearts at gaming wonders. We endeavour to cover as many interesting games as we can, but with literally twenty or so PC games being released on just Steam every day (let alone the treasure troves of games on Itch, Humble, GOG, and so on), we obviously can’t write about everything. As amazing as your game may be, it was one amongst dozens of amazing games, amongst thousands of emails that pour in every week. We try our best, but we’re all working flat out. Some smaller great games will get missed, others just aren’t that great and we choose not to cover them.
(Quick tip: it’s a good idea to direct your email to the writer you think is most suited to your game, and briefly say why. And most of all, don’t ask if we want codes, just include codes!)
Oh, and before you send that press release about your new iPhone game, or link to a dog playing the Zelda theme tune on a noseflute, please remember that we are a PC site. Just PC, nothing else. You wouldn’t believe how many people haven’t noticed that.

Who are we?
Editor-in-chief
Katharine is RPS' editor-in-chief, which means she's now to blame for all this. After joining the team in 2017, she spent a lot of time in the RPS hardware mines, testing all the bits that go inside our PCs, but now she gets to write about all the lovely games we play on them, too. She'll play pretty much anything she can get her hands on, and is very partial to JRPGs and the fetching of quests.

Rachel manages all things reviews for RPS. Ever since she first started writing about games on the internet, she’s always felt strongly about championing indies and will never stop banging on about the latest indie darling. If you know of an upcoming game you think RPS would be interested in, she’s the gal to reach out to.

Ollie is known round these parts for having just about the deepest voice in existence. Some say he used to be pretty darn good at Rocket League, but he has since sacrificed that accolade in order to become passably decent at Apex Legends. His favourite pastimes include playing piano covers of his favourite game soundtracks, and burying his face in the warm fur of his two cats.

When Ed's not cracking thugs with bicycles in Yakuza, he's likely swinging a badminton racket in real life. Any genre goes, but he's very into shooters and likes a weighty gun, particularly if they have a chainsaw attached to them. Adores orange and mango squash, unsure about olives.

Rebecca can usually be found working through her latest fiction-induced anguish by recreating all those lovely doomed characters in The Sims. She is known for being able to work Tomb Raider or Ace Attorney into any conversation, no matter how seemingly unrelated the topic. She also loves horror games and will play them at any opportunity, despite the fact that they make her so panicked she once threw her controller in a self-defence reflex. (The controller survived; Rebecca's dignity did not.)

Liam is RPS’s vid bud. When he’s not obsessing over the finer details of digital cities and theme parks, he’s probably getting very excited about a colourful indie game that stars a nice frog. A huge fan of everything PC gaming-related, Liam has a particular fondness for classic 90s shooters and Team Fortress 2.
