Best Modern Warfare 2 HCR 56 loadout: The best HCR 56 class setup and attachments

Here's the best HCR 56 loadout in Modern Warfare 2

Looking for the best HCR 56 loadout in Modern Warfare 2? The HCR is a powerhouse at close-range, but overall ranks rather low on our list of the best LMGs in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. That's because it doesn't really feel like an LMG, with stats that seem better suited to an assault rifle. With our HCR 56 loadout, we lean into that medium-range playstyle by improving its handling and mobility to make it feel more lightweight and nimble for close-quarters engagements.

In this guide, we'll break down the best HCR 56 loadout in Modern Warfare 2, covering the best attachments, secondary weapon, perks, and equipment that you need for your MW2 HCR 56 class setup.

Unsure what gun to choose in Modern Warfare 2? Confused which weapons pair best with one another? Look no further. The answers to your questions (and more) lie within the video above.

Best HCR 56 loadout in Modern Warfare 2

Our MW2 HCR 56 loadout gives a massive boost to both handling and mobility, while also improving accuracy to make it a killing machine in short-medium range encounters. There are tiny reductions to damage and range, but it still offers a 3-shot kill at most distances to rip enemies apart at incredible speed.

Here's the best HCR 56 loadout in Modern Warfare 2:

  • Barrel: 24.4" Bruen S-620
  • Comb: FTAC C11 Riser
  • Laser: VLK LZR 7MW
  • Magazine: 30 Round Mag
  • Underbarrel: FSS Sharkfin 90

Almost every attachment in this loadout focuses on raising the ADS speed or sprint to fire speed. The 24.4" Bruen S-620 boosts the former alongside movement speed, while the VLK LZR 7MW, FTAC C11 Riser, and 30 Round Mag contribute to both. With all of these attachments equipped, the HCR 56 should immediately feel easier to handle and far better at close-range.

Since the default iron sights are already decent for short-medium range firefights, we recommend opting for the FSS Sharkfin 90 as your last attachment. This underbarrel is an easy pick in many loadouts, offering additional aiming stability without any negatives.

Best secondary weapon

Since our HCR 56 loadout adapts the LMG to focus on short-medium range, you'll need a long-range weapon as your secondary. If you're after one of the best marksman rifles in Modern Warfare 2, take a look at our guide on the best Lockwood Mk2 loadout. For something that packs more of a punch, our SP-X 80 loadout perfects an already excellent weapon that tops our list of the best sniper rifles in Modern Warfare 2.

Best perks and equipment

To equip a sniper as a secondary, you'll need to use the Overkill perk. In your second slot, use Double Time to extend the length of your tactical sprint. To quickly swap between your HCR 56 and secondary, equip the Fast Hands bonus perk. Ghost is one of the best perks in Modern Warfare 2, as its ability to keep you hidden from enemy UAVs and Portable Radars will keep you alive in dangerous circumstances.

The Stim Shot is an essential piece of equipment that you can use to boost back to max health in just two seconds. If you're struggling to clear an objective or cut through a group of enemies, chuck a Thermite grenade in their direction to spread some fiery AoE chaos.

That wraps up our guide on the best HCR 56 loadout in Modern Warfare 2. For more guides on top LMG class setups, take a look at our Raal MG loadout and our 556 Icarus loadout.
